Demonstrations and government's response in the capital city of Northern Song China, 960-1127

A thousand years ago, demonstrations already were for the Song subjects means of expressing their dissatisfaction and appeal. Demonstration was a special way between legal and institutional government-subjects communications and illegal anti-government rebellions, and there is nothing new to-day. This talk will examine the sites where the dissatisfied people could reach the government, who were these people and what were the government’s various responses to different opponents in different conditions.
