The hybrid syntactic typology of Sinitic languages

EHESS - Salle 7  -  105, boulevard Raspail  -  75006 Paris
Final Symposium for the ERC “Sinotype” project, “The Hybrid Syntactic Typology of Sinitic Languages”.

The final symposium of one-day’s duration on the diversity and hybrid typological characteristics of Sinitic languages will take place during the day preceding the 26thJournées Linguistiques d’Asie-Orientale. It will be held in the same building as for the Journées, that is, in the teaching building of the École des hautes études en sciences sociales at 105 boulevard Raspail.

In addition to several invited speakers, each of the team members will present the main results of their research on seven little-known Sinitic languages for which they have carried out intensive fieldwork during the 4½ year-period of this ERC project. This will involve a typological profile of the language, highlighting an interesting theoretical problem in syntax or morphology.

The talks will be given in English. All are welcome to attend. Programme and guest speakers TBA.
