Colloque

The symposium, jointly convened by William H. Baxter (U. Michigan), Jin Li (Fudan University), Pan Wuyun (Shanghai Normal University) and Laurent Sagart (CRLAO), will bring together about 40-50 participants from China, East Asia, Europe and North America in Shanghai, December 13-20, 2005. It will deal
with topics in Old Chinese phonology, morphology, syntax and palaeography of Old Chinese, as well as of related languages of East Asia.

The goal is to bring together leading researchers on Old Chinese and related fields, including both
well-established scholars and those who are still early in their careers, so as to promote better communication and lay the groundwork for future cooperative research.
